Frequently Asked Questions

There are 3 ways to apply for a course:

  1. If you are registered and/or in receipt of a payment from DSP, you should contact your local DSP office, who will determine your eligibility for referral to the course.
  2. You may apply for the majority of courses by setting up an account on www.fetchcourses.ie and applying for the course. (Some courses are not available through this method)
  3. Contact the Training Centre directly via the enquiry form here.

Depending on your DSP/Employment Status, you may avail of the course free of charge.

If you are registered and/or in receipt of a payment from the DSP, contact your local DSP Office.
If you are employed, please contact us via our enquiry form here.

We will usually contact you about 3-4 weeks before the course is due to start. You will be invited for an information session on the course to see if it is right for you.

Search for your course here. The Selection Criteria tab for each course will tell you if there is a test and/or an interview.

Full-Time courses in the Training Centre are as follows: (Monday – Thursday 08:30-15:45, Friday 08:30-12:45). 
Evening Courses are from 18:30 to 21:30 for either one or two evenings per week, depending on the course. 
For flexible delivery, some courses are offered via Part-time, Blended and Online delivery. The required attendance hours for these types of courses will vary and will be discussed with you at the course information session.

This depends on the level of certification on each course. Search for your course here. The duration is listed with all courses.

This depends on your course and the majority of course are certified with QQI (Quality & Qualifications Ireland) and other recognised industry bodies such as Microsoft, Adobe, City & Guilds, CompTIA and ICDL.

Certificates will be issued following External Authentication and a Results Approval Panel meeting. The length of time will vary depending on the Certifying Body and may take up to 5 months.

A training allowance will be paid in accordance with your DEASP entitlement for those attending full time day courses. Payments are made a week in arrears. No training allowance is paid for attending Evening Training.

Other allowances available include Travel Allowance, Meals Allowance and Accommodation Allowance. Eligibility for these allowances will be discussed with you at your course information session.

While in training, learners are not entitled to holidays. However, you will be entitled to Bank/Public holidays. On some of our longer duration courses, learners may be given a 2 week break during the course which is determined by the course duration.

No. Our courses run all year round.

Yes. Car Parking is available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

A subsidised Canteen is available for daytime training only. No canteen facilities are available for Evening Training.

No. We do not have Crèche facilities available in the Training Centre. Visit the National Childcare Scheme website for further information on Crèche options.
